Hosting
This website is operated on servers provided by an external service provider. The provider is IONOS Inc., USA.
When you access a page, your browser automatically transmits certain technical data. This includes in particular your IP address, the time of the request, browser type and version, operating system, referrer URL and the volume of data transferred.
This data is necessary to deliver the website, to detect errors and to prevent misuse.
As the hosting provider is based in the USA, personal data may be transferred there. We base such transfers on Standard Contractual Clauses pursuant to Art. 46 GDPR, as approved by the European Commission.
The legal basis for the processing described is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the reliable and secure provision of the online service).
A data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR) is in place with IONOS Inc.
Web Analytics with Plausible
This website uses Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly web analytics service.
Plausible does not use cookies and does not collect personal data for the purpose of creating user profiles. It operates without tracking individual visitors.
The data collected serves exclusively for the statistical analysis of website usage (e.g. page views, visitor origin).
The provider is Plausible Insights OÜ, Västriku tn 2, 50403, Tartu, Estonia.
The legal basis for the use of Plausible Analytics is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the analysis and optimisation of the website).
Further information on data protection at Plausible can be found at: https://plausible.io/data-policy
Newsletter (Buttondown)
For the newsletter we store the email address you provide. Additional information is only collected if you enter it voluntarily in the sign-up form.
Distribution is handled by the service Buttondown (Buttondown LLC, USA). Technical metadata may be generated there (e.g. relating to delivery or sign-up time). Data may be transferred to the USA; the prescribed safeguards apply, including the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework and/or Standard Contractual Clauses.
We send the newsletter only with your express consent. Where double opt-in is provided, registration only takes effect upon confirmation. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. You may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future — for example via the link in each issue or by contacting us.

Contact
If you contact us by email or — where available — via a contact form, we use the information you provide (e.g. sender address, message text, timestamp) to handle your enquiry.
Where the contact relates to a contract or a pre-contractual enquiry, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. In all other cases we rely on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to your message).
We delete the data once processing is complete and no further retention obligation applies.
User Rights
Where the statutory requirements are met, you have in particular the following rights in relation to us:
Access to information about the processing of your data (Art. 15 GDPR)
Rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
Erasure ("right to be forgotten") (Art. 17 GDPR)
Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
Data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
Objection to processing based on a balancing of interests (Art. 21 GDPR)
Right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing, insofar as Art. 22 GDPR applies
Withdrawal of Consent
If you have consented to processing (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), you may withdraw that consent at any time. This removes the legal basis for future processing; any processing carried out prior to withdrawal remains lawful.
