The Night Blades are based in Fortress Nocturn, deep in the Shadow Mountains in the north. They take in children and shape them into tools — not recruitment, but upbringing. Obedience, training, precision. Feelings are weaknesses. Doubt is dangerous.
The Order guards the Gravitas Stone — the Stone of Gravity. Or it did, until the stone was stolen.
Lyra Veyne is a deserter of the Night Blades. What she knows about the Order makes her dangerous. What the Order knows about her makes her a target.
